On Miami Circle, Buckhead Consigned

The Biggest Little Shop in Town

A room-after-room consignment showroom of fine furnishings, chandeliers, mirrors, art and décor from the area’s finest homes. Because every piece is consigned, it is here once — and then it is gone.

Two doors

Buy & sell

Most people come to Mélange to furnish a room — or to empty one.

Both sides run through the same showroom and the same two owners. Pick the one you’re here for.

A cream tufted sofa with blue-and-white patterned pillows, a glass swan and a gilt tray on a glass coffee table, a mid-century wood-arm chair, and a wall hung edge to edge with framed paintings and mirrors.

Furnishing a room

Shop the floor

Mid-century, French, traditional, transitional and modern, side by side in the same room — the mix is the point. Because everything on the floor is consigned, nothing repeats, and what you saw last month is not what you’ll see today. Come in and let an owner walk it with you.

A corner of the Mélange showroom: a large round mirror, a black iron étagère loaded with accessories, table lamps, blue-and-gold porcelain vases and a wall of framed art above a console.

Emptying a house

Consign with us

Downsizing, a move, a house to settle — Mélange takes luxury furniture, lighting, art, home décor and accessories on consignment. It starts with photographs in an email, and it is a named human on the other end of it, not an auction lot.

How consigning works

What’s on the floor

The floor

An eclectic mix, and not one of it mass-produced.

In Mélange’s own words, the showroom holds a mixture of fine furnishings, chandeliers, accent lighting and mirrors — and more besides. It arrives one piece at a time, from houses around Atlanta, and it is arranged room by room rather than laid out in aisles.

Names that come through

  • Henredon
  • Mitchell Gold
  • Baker
  • Kittinger
  • Roche Bobois

The brand list Mélange publishes. Consignment means the floor turns over constantly, so treat these as names that come through — not as stock. Call the shop to ask what is actually in today.

A styled room inside Mélange: a mahogany chest-on-chest with a broken-arch pediment, a glazed mahogany breakfront of china behind, two olive-green upholstered chairs around a round white marble-topped table, a red glass lamp and a gilt starburst on the table.

Room after room

It looks small from the street.

In their words
“Mélange truly has that mom and pop store front feel that can be refreshing”

His review opens: “Visiting Mélange in Atlanta feels like stepping into furniture shops from my childhood.” Verbatim, both lines, from the same review.

Consigning with Mélange

Consign

It starts with photographs in an email.

Mélange accepts luxury furniture, lighting, art, home décor and accessories on consignment. Interior designers use them in both directions — one names Mélange as where she sends her high-end clients to consign.

  1. Step 1

    Send photographs

Email photos and information about your pieces to info@melangeatlanta.com — the address Mélange’s own consignment page names for intake.

  2. Step 2

    Expect a call

A follow-up phone call goes over the consignment contract with you.

  3. Step 3

    Sometimes a home visit

For the right pieces the shop will arrange to come and see them in person.

  4. Step 4

    On the floor

In Mélange’s own published words: “Our personalized service ensures your items receive the best exposure and are sold at the highest value within 120 days.”

Steps 1 and 4 are Mélange’s own current published terms. Steps 2 and 3 are how the process was described in a February 2020 feature on the shop in Simply Buckhead, a Buckhead lifestyle magazine — ask the shop to confirm they still work that way. Commission and terms are not published; ask Edie or Jessica directly.

Questions

The things people ring up to ask.

When are you open?

Tuesday to Saturday, 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. Mélange also adds “or by appointment” — so if those hours don’t work, ring 404-816-5648 and ask.

Where exactly are you?

652A Miami Cir NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 — on Miami Circle in Buckhead, Atlanta’s home-furnishings street, just off Piedmont Road. There is a wheelchair-accessible parking lot.

Can I buy something online?

No. Mélange sells in the showroom only — there is no online store, no checkout and no shipping from this site. Every piece is consigned and one of a kind, so if something has caught your eye, call 404-816-5648 or email info@melangeatlanta.com and ask whether it is still on the floor.

How do I consign my furniture?

Email photographs and information to info@melangeatlanta.com. Mélange accepts luxury furniture, lighting, art, home décor and accessories, and their site says a consigned piece is “sold at the highest value within 120 days.” Commission and contract terms are not published — ask when you write.

What kinds of things do you carry?

Fine furniture, home décor, lighting and chandeliers, rugs, mirrors, fine art and oil paintings — in mid-century, French, traditional, transitional and modern styles. Names that come through include Henredon, Mitchell Gold, Baker, Kittinger and Roche Bobois. Because the floor is consigned, it changes constantly.

How do you take payment?

In the shop: cash, cheque, debit, credit, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay. All of it in person — Mélange takes no payments online.
